Terms of use and Rules

Operating System Computing(OSC) is a completely free support site for users with computer and technology related issues. We are staffed by volunteers who use their own time to help you.

Your use of our Internet sites is subject to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). We may modify these Terms at any time without notice to you by posting revised Terms on our sites. Your use of our sites constitutes your binding acceptance of these Terms, including any modifications that we make.
With that in mind, we ask that all members please follow these simple rules in order to create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable.
Your Conduct on Our Sites
You agree not to post or transmit material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening or invasive of a person's privacy; that otherwise violates any law; or that encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense.

RULES OF CONDUCT
User agrees not to post material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, that otherwise violates any law, or that encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense.
User agrees not to post any material that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right.
User agrees not to use nicknames that might be deemed abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise inappropriate. User agrees not to use nicknames that might mislead other Users. This includes but is not limited to using nicknames that impersonate developers, staff, or other Users, or other individuals outside of OSC.
By registering for a free account, you agree to abide by the following policies:
1. All information and instructions given are to be used at your own risk. By following the advice of any poster on the forums you give up the right to hold OSComputing.com liable for any damages.

2. Posting any copyrighted information is strictly prohibited.

3. Support for, discussion of, or promotion of sites offering cracks, warez, torrents, pornography or any other illegal material or any software created to download any of the above. This includes nulled, copied or any other illegal software or operating systems.

4. Spamming is not permitted; please keep all your posts as constructive as possible.

5. Any and all racial, ethnic or gender based insults or any other personal attacks towards staff or members will not be tolerated and result in an immediate ban

7. This forum has the right to request alteration or deletion of any offensive content. If this is not done in a prompt manner, the Staff will delete the material themselves.

8. Pictures may be posted as long as they are not explicit, offensive, or copyrighted.

9. Advertisements, of any sort, are not permitted. This includes member names and links to commercial sites in Signatures, or in posts. If you would like to advertise on our site, please contact us via the "Contact Us" link below

10. Members may have only one account on this forum. There is no need to have more than one.

11. We will not assist with recovery of or figuring out of system passwords, for any reason.

12. No Religious or Political posting allowed.


User Agreement for Operating System Computing Forums
This message forum, and other user contributed/comment areas ("Forums") are provided as a service to members of our community. By using or participating on the Forums, you agree to this User Agreement including but not limited to the Rules of Conduct and the Terms of Service stated below. For purposes of this agreement, "User" refers to any individual posting on or otherwise using the Forums and OSC refers to any or all of Operating System Computing and their authorized representatives.
OSC reserves the right to change the Rules of Conduct, Terms of Service and all other parts of this User Agreement at its sole discretion and without notice.
As a standard operating procedure, OSC does not enter into correspondence, discussions or other communication, either public or private, about OSC Board policies, individual moderators, enforcement or application of the User Agreement, bans or other sanctions, etc.
TERMS OF SERVICE
User acknowledges and agrees that use of the OSC Boards is a privilege, not a right, and that OSC has the right, at its sole discretion, to revoke this privilege at any time without notice or reason. User agrees that this Agreement in its entirety applies to both public and private messages.
The goal of the Forums is to foster communication and the interchange of ideas within the User community. User agrees and acknowledges that any posts, nicknames or other material deemed offensive, harassing, baiting or otherwise inappropriate may be removed at the sole discretion of OSC.
OSC has the right but not the obligation to monitor and/or moderate the Forums, and offers no assurances in this regard.
OSC is not responsible for messages posted on the Forums or the content therein. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message. Each message expresses the views of its originating User, not necessarily those of OSC. Unless expressly stated otherwise by a senior OSC representative such as the Editor in Chief, this includes messages posted by OSC personnel, agents, delegates, representatives et al.
Any User who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us. We have the ability to remove messages and we will make every effort to do so within a reasonable time if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to act immediately. Removal of messages is at the sole discretion of OSC.
